POS APP & Toyota entune garbage

Wholly crap what a horrible app. Just like others were saying it crashes a lot. Also who wants to see directions rather than the streets themselves like any other gps. I cannot even believe toyota entune even approves of this garbage to go into my brand new 18 vehicle. Smh

Crashes

The app crashed twice this evening while showing off my new car to friends. Very embarrassing. I read other reviews where crashes have occurred. What will be done to fix this problem?

Pathetic

Love my 2018 Toyota Hybrid Camry except is has no working nav system - currently Scout has a conflict with iOs 11 per Toyota customer service! My 2009 Prius had a great nav system. This Scout system is an absurd replacement and a reason not to buy the car. Even in the Prius, I used Google Maps for drxns and the nav system just to see the surrounding streets as I drove around areas where I don’t need drxns. Unbelievable that I have less nav functionality in a high end car 9 model years later. Another interesting detail about this pathetic system, even if you can get the phone app and dash nav talking to each other, it doesn’t work if the phone is less than 50% charged.

Don’t buy this

Worse than paper map Shame on Toyota Already called Toyota. They said it will never be real navigation. Entune 3.0 has moving maps, etc. But that is only on a few ‘18 vehicles. Call them and complain. Maybe they will change their mind.

Worst thing about my new Toyota

Bought a great car. Bad navigation app. Crashes,”could not complete request at this time” is the main thing you see. I even upgraded my phone. Toyota made a bad choice with this GPS SYSTEM. Should make it up to their customers with something better.

Search is blocked

When I am driving and want to enter a new address for navigation, the Search for Address or Destination is blocked and I can only click on Food, Gas, etc. what causes this? Not happy at all with this. Had to follow my friend in her Honda because her Nav works!

Terrible!!

This is the worst! It will freeze & keep telling me I’m somewhere that I left an hour ago. I was left in a strange place with no guidance it was very scary! This happens a lot. I would NEVER buy another car with this system in it! I am very very disappointed!!

Terrible.

Crashing all the time. I don’t know what was Toyota thinking at the time that they start with this map provider. Toyota should do something.

Poor

Really useless and with time change did not sync with dashboard clock per manual.

Never works

What in the world... id rather pay 300$ for a gps then use this. When the dealer helped me load everything onto the tundra and my phone I thought it was the coolest thing. Since then it will never work. It wont even show any mapping system on the stereo.. i wish I could give it a 0/5 I have tried uninstalling and re installing and still wont work.

Shift blame

Took Toyota through arbitration because of this app; they blamed Apple iOS and won! Unbelievable! Will never buy another Toyota product. Navigation drops before completing trip; doesn’t recognize your starting location; says you’re moving when sitting still; says, “you’ve arrived” minutes AFTER arriving; lags terribly, let’s you go past turns with x# feet to go showing; simplistic design...

Awful

This app has not worked consistently in the two months since I bought the 2018 Camry. I love the car. I HATE the nav system. I’ve downloaded all updates and repeatedly tested. Mostly I get turn by turn directions but no maps. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Once it quit part way to my destination. I changed to navigation on my iPhone. Yesterday I set a destination, no maps. I called the 800 Cust Service number. They said “stop the car, turn off, open and shut the door, restart the car. Maps may or may not work. Sorry for the inconvenience.” Are you kidding?

Avoid if you can

Probably the worst user experience I have seen in a long time. I use rental cars all the time for work travel (every other week) and have used every system out there. This is by far the worst system possible. Zero true integration with your phone gps or maps. Can’t enter a location from my phone, where normally you can simply click on the map / address in my reservation. You have to enter it on the car’s screen and it didn’t find the hotel at all. Never renting a Toyota again as long as they have this system and I fee sorry for the people that actually bought a car with this.

Don’t buy this

Worse than paper map Shame on Toyota

Better yet....don't buy a Toyota if you want non integrated GPS. It doesn't work! Just bought an 18 Camry and can not solve the problems associated with Scout. It stays running non your phone and drains battery. It usually won't connect to entune. We are all not crazy in these reviews. Buy a Honda or GMC if you want GPS.

Sal Yanez

This review is directed to Sal Yanez. Mr Yanez I keep reading that you appreciate every ones feedback on this worthless app. My question is what are you doing about it? Ok so just did the update. It’s still junk. Keeps saying I’m on one street when I’m actually on another. On freeways it just shows I’m on random streets. Jesus can this get any worse? So I did the latest iOS update yesterday and this app has improved but still buggy. Was able to actually use it yesterday. It froze once and it still lags so I’m hoping this is a step in the right direction. Update: 3-10-18. Since my last update I’ve had a chance to use this app a few more times. This app still needs a lot of work. Still a pain to get to connect sometimes. Other time it connects easily. Twice after about 30 minutes of use it just disconnects on its own. Trying to reconnect while driving was unsuccessful and unsafe. If at sometime we have to pay for this app I’ll buy a Garmin. For now thank goodness for my phone.

Such a Hassle!

Why oh why would Toyota stick with such a frustrating gps system we’ll never know? I can test drive any other new vehicle w/gps & not have to have my phone plugged in. Why do I have to use my phone battery to access gps & not my Camry Hybrid battery? Scout crashes, the keyboard is awkward, the map could use refinement, etc etc etc Even my Toyota rep confided she never uses Scout but sticks with Waze - like I do. I hate thinking that I paid for a gps installation that I can’t & wont use. I’ve been hoping Toyota will work out an update - software? or renov? to its many drivers who love their cars but hate Scout. What about it Toyota?? Don’t let me be just another client you send an auto comment to call your customer service!

Couldn’t get me out of my driveway

Google maps is so much better even with the annoying voice every turn or telling me it’s recalculating. I would rather use my lcd screen instead I have to rely on my phone. Be prepared it will not find restaurants or landmarks needed to find directions to or from your desired destination. I would never trust this app in a area I’m not familiar with because you WILL get lost or end up in a accident.

Don’t buy this

Worse than paper map
