Scout GPS Link App Reviews

Great app

Good to have GPS on my new vehicle without having to pay extra. It appears on the screen

Lacks useful navigation viewpoints

When displayed on my cars screen, the only viewpoint is from a turn-by-turn perspective. This means that I have to stare at my screen much more than I really need to. This app is useless without the ability to zoom out and see where Im at within a 1/2 mile or 5 block radius.

Never gonna buy toyota again

This thing is not the same thing as apple car play ... i would buy Honda instead of this stuff this is absolutely worthless... never gonna buy Toyota again ... it never works just stops working sometime when you are using .... should of bought honda ....

Need to be updated!

When used with the 2016 Rav 4! For the most part only the directions appear on the screen not a map. Which is terribly inconvenient. The location doesnt update as quickly as needed so missing the entrance is easy. If a map appeared and the location updated quicker it would be great. But it doesnt google map or the iphones gps are much, much better making this frustrating. Because it makes the cars gps useless!!!

Bad GPS

I have a 2016 RAV4 and was excited to see it came with a GPS. However, after attempting to use it once, I have to agree with the other reviewers. This app is horrible. I get far better results with Google maps which is my go to GPS. This app needs a major overhaul.

Just awful

Kept telling me to turn into a median. Then proceeded to tell me to turn into a sidewalk. It was okay after I found my way onto the highway, but then told me to get off on the wrong exit.

Yuck double

Awful subpar for Toyota. Totally difficult o set up. Doesnt picked up contacts. My 2013 Camry was so easy without any fuss read my contacts all the time . I didnt even want a gps system as I already had one. If I could give half star, I would

User

Horrible-drains battery, bad interface for use with my new rav 4-super disappointing-I hate that it doesnt show a map of where to turn and its very confusing to use-please upgrade!

Zero Stars - Useless

This rarely connects, the graphics stink......totally useless. Do they actually pay people to create this garbage. Ill be sticking with my goodol Garmin. Works 1000% better. Dont waste your time with this.

I hate it

I hate that doesnt show a map and also doesnt give you alternative routes if is not update soon I will delete

Horrible experience

I bought a 2016 Toyota Camry, and Scout GPS Link was a part of it. The initial idea was cool, but that was short liver after actually using it. The GPS itself is very inaccurate. Seems to be outdated. Even though it speaks the exit number, the directions show a street instead. And thats when it shows an actual street name. I have found many streets that show "unnamed". And these are off major highways, not backroads. I have complained to Toyota and Scout. Neither side accepts responsibility. Its a shame to have paid so much for a car with supposedly "GPS" capabilities. I just use Google Maps or Waze. Sad...

No map when to connected my car while driving.

Does not show a heads up display map during navigation while connected to my 2016 Camry. It gives you a map during navigation on the phone by itself but not when connected to my Camry. My wife needs to see where shes going while driving without having to read. Considering everything this app takes a half step backwards in GPS navigation.

Lol

I bought Toyota Camry 2016. First I thought it would be great to have GPS. But I get disappointed. Its the worst GPS I have ever seen.

Terrible app

No need to try and reinvent the wheel, should have modeled Google maps! Does not show map of area unless you have address to enter. Cumbersome! Google maps faster more efficient

Bad App/ Bad GPS/ Garbage! Zero Stars/ waste of time

This whole gps with phone and car is horrible. I cant put the address of destination on car gps, back signal, I cant search places on the car. Either 2 things need to happen, redesign this whole gps app making it more convenient for ppl to use...that goes from the phone all the way to the car (very bad communication) or shut this app down. Because it simply doesnt work. I will be making calls seeing whos responsible for this app. I wish I could give it ZERO (0) stars...

Total garbage

Downloaded this and was hopeful as a replacement for the UI nightmare that is the built-in navigation system for my 2016 RAV4 Limited. I guess Ill never know for sure, since Ive spent an inordinate amount of time even attempting to get it to connect over Bluetooth. My iPhone connects to the system fine for other Bluetooth stuff like audio, etc. I cant even believe Toyota includes this app in their user manuals. Dont waste your time.

Terrible

Crashes repeatedly while using directions. Usually unable to find my location in the first place. This should not be used. Also, location services are on all the time if you allow this app use location services.

Love this app

Easy to use

Whats With This Bad App?!

The RAV4 is so advanced and easy to operate overall. Why include this useless app? I wasted my time learning about it - complete waste of my valuable time. Toyota, please create an app with Google that displays Google maps on your display! This is what most of your customers use/are familiar with because it works so well. The customer review that gave this app a 5 must work at the company responsible for this crappy app.

2016 Highlander eTunes Radio

The app company did not keep up with the app upgrades for the app. Current version is not licensed with Apple. My 2016 Highlander sees the app, tries to load it. Then warns load was unsuccessful. App was not upgraded for the iPhone 6 or 6s. I have a middle grade ETunes radio without the GPS unit.
