Scout GPS Link App Reviews

Dont waste your money

Simple the worst gps ever

Obtrusive

The app needs my location all the time? Even when I am not using the app? Really? I installed this today, on the recommendation of my Toyota Sales Rep. I really hope it works as well as Google Maps. If not, it will be uninstalled.

This is one of the worst apps

5 thumbs up

Great app! Syncs well with my vehicle! Easy to use! Very accurate! ??????????

Gives incorrect directions, when driving changes direction randomly, takes too long to connect. Waste of space and money. Disappointed Toyota would provide such inferior product.

Terrible - Toyota should be embarrassed

Wont even connect to car even though phone connected through Bluetooth. Toyota should fire this developer, and start from scratch.

Terrible dont get hopes up

I specifically requested a car with gps and scout is not that at all especially for sprint customers who may need to answer a call while driving. It doesnt connect correctly so I just use it from my phone and cant even do that bc it tries to reconnect every 10 seconds. Terrible for your only option for vehicle navigation system.

Terrible.

Get used to the "Connection Failed" message

Pitiful

Turn by turn only, no realtime map when syncd to my brand new Toyota. Turn by turn gives Unnamed roads more than named roads and provides very little information. Toyota needs to get with it.

Waste of space

This application does not provide any useful navigation its much easier just to use your phone then to link up to this in your vehicle if the program actually could search out items like on Google maps it would be much more useful

Worst thing ever

Worst gps app ever to exist on gods green earth. What kind of navigation doesnt show you a map when youre driving?Pointless app, doesnt show you anything, doesnt know where you are and just keeps on rerouting. I never even imagined there would be no map on a navigation. I would give it negative stars if I could.

Useless

Cant believe Toyota forces you to use this piece of crap app. I have to use my phone with google maps. Seriously useless. Never works!

Worst App EVER!

This app is worthless! Not functional as a GPS! Do not listen to the dealer try to tell you otherwise. You WILL NOT have a functioning GPS by using this app.

Horrible !

Worst app ever . DOES NOT WORK.

Apps verses nothing

You might call it GPS but I call it POS we purchased a new car in 2016 a Toyota Avalon we only requested one thing and that was navigation at the time we didnt know any better.but anyway we got a car with Apps. After the third cellphone I was able to see what it was about BOY was I disappointed I see now that it was the worst thing that Toyota ever did!!! And the GPS was on top of the list!!

Cannot connect to iPhone

This app is utterly broken. Some days it allowed my phone to connect with the car, other days the app doesnt. And also, its gonna make you allow location to "always." Buyers beware, either they need to fix this or youd better buy a Honda with better system.

Getting use to it but please fix this

I am getting used to the app; however when playing music from my iPhone and when the app is giving directions through the car, it really needs to turn the volume down.

0 star

Worst gps app ever. Toyota pick a looser on this one. Cheap and greedy move on Toyota. The app interface should be put in a museum. It only show you turn by turn (and lousy at it as it always wrong) and you cant see where you going or what is coming up as you cant see the map or roads while you are using it. So in another words, you have to trust this stupid app to tell you when to turn. And if you miss it, that is too bad. And if you come to a split on the road, you better roll the dice and pick your choice and hope for the best. You have better luck with a regular phone app. Thousands of dollars in a car and they come out with the worst gps app ever.

Just awful.

Update 7/12/2017: Ok, so we finally got an update after 10 months and years of complaining. What did we get? A microscopic "live" map. Woo-hoo. What did we not get? An update to the antique database. Still circa 2010 (chuckles to self while shaking head). Oh, and a notification (warning?) that Toyota is sticking with this raging dumpster fire for the 2018 model year. Toyota Cares? Lol. Apparently not in this case. Gee, thanks for the privilege of having my data, which I pay for, consumed by this dangerously misinformed and ridiculously outdated pile of garbage. Still -5 stars. Another stunning fail. Previous Review: Where to start? There is just so much wrong. First off the database is over 5 years old as you can see in their about section. For GPS that is vintage, if not antique. It is also very shallow, just missing so much information that nearly every other GPS App contains. Terribly inaccurate to the point of being potentially dangerous. App crashes at start up far more often than it opens, geometrically more. The explore section contains paid ads! Seriously? Paid ads? Ridiculous. Support is MIA. Zero, zip, nada. Scout GPS Link is pure, worthless garbage! Im actually stunned that Toyota would stick us with this junk. My 2016 Tundra deserves much, much better and so does everyone else! Ive deleted the App from my phone, now I wish I could figure out a way to get it out of the Entune audio system. Toyota jumped the shark with this one. Weakest link in a awesome truck! Stick with Google Maps, Waze and heck, even Apple Maps!

Update the OS

Update the OS on iPhones because this is ridiculous.
