I only have it because of my Toyota and so Ive tried countless times to make it work. Its so out of date. Cant find any stores. Just not useable. I give up.
Scout GPS Link App Reviews
Worst Navigation App
I have used a lot of navigation apps and this has got to be the worst by far. It amazes me that a company the size of Toyota just cant get on board with Android Auto or Car Play. I am trying to figure out how to back out of my car purchase just because of the stereo/navigation!
An embarrassment
Certainly isnt accurate or efficient when choosing routes. Also, there is no reason to access my phones GPS when Im not using the app. My battery is being drained for no reason. Change it to use GPS only when using the app and you might get another star.
Wont even connect to my car with Bluetooth
Horrible experience. I expect better from Toyota. Let Entune work with Google Maps or Apple Maps. Or better yet, enable Car Play. GM has the right technology strategy. You could learn a thing from GM when it comes to a technology enabled car.
Very poor app
It places you in the wrong place; it does not interface with the car well. Do not substitute this for getting the nav system for the car.
Just does not work reliably
I have tried this app several times and it just does not work. I would rather use the navigation in my iPhone. Dont know why Toyota/Lexus does not support CarPlay for iPhone or Android auto instead of trying to re-invent the wheel. This app is a poor excuse for a reliable navigation app. I sure hope Toyota/Lexus reads these reviews.
Adds zero value to the vehicle even though customers paid extra for the Plus/Premium Entune. Only frustrates & infuriates customers with hassle, confusion & unreliable info while draining data & battery. Worst marketing feature ever; only serves to drive customers away from Toyota to other makers with more forward-thinking, technologically-advance, simple & more useful navigational options.
I hate the app too. This is a turn by turn nav system that is only good for giving directions. It doesn't work if you want to see a map on your screen and to see traffic. Don't be fooled, it's not a complete navigation system product.
To see the map you need to tether the phone via the USB - with the dynamic map the amount of data is too large for Bluetooth to handle.
I wish zero stars was an option. Come on Toyota, this is 2017! This "navigation" system steps back 30 or more years. No map, cannot even figure out where you are. Total garbage! I bought their so called best and find myself forced to add a third party GPS. Aside from selling a piece of junk, Toyota stands behind their decision and refuses to respond to phone calls and email complaints. It sure lets us know where customer satisfaction stands on the priority list.

The Scout GPS Link app for our 2017 Camry XSE is worthless... As many folks have commented below, you can't just pull up a full-screen moving map on your dash screen -- you have to navigate to a specific location. I contacted Telenav, the developer of the app, and they said that they have no plans to update their app to include real-time moving maps. Our 2008 Camry Hybrid had better GPS/navigation technology. I can't believe that they are also offering this on Lexus vehicles in 2017...

I have the same problem with the Scout GPS Link. Its as close to worthless as I can describe! Its unbelievable that Toyota did this to its customers. Does anyone know if it can be replaced?
A Big Piece of YELLOW Crappy GPS. This is waste of time, shame on Toyota. I do not want this YELLOW color crap on my dashboard. I hate out dated gps apps. I am trying to remove from my dash board screen now. I request stay away from this Crappy yellow app.
All the reviews are absolutely correct. On top of the horrible features, my GPS freezes in the car, takes forever to type in to search, and keeps kicking me out. I went the entire 9 yards and had Toyota to look at the system. They ruled it out as my carrier! Toyota told me to switch carriers and buy a new phone. HORRIBLE answer!!! I am beyond disappointed.
2017 Tacoma 4x4 This navigation system is a little bit not good. There is no full screen map. There is just a little map where you can't see anything really. Useless! I have an old Garmin GPS that is 500 times better. I just need to figure out how to install it without messing up dash. All the post I've seen are negative so I hope Toyota will do something about this.
Toyota should be ashamed of themselves for this piece of crap. Useless, simply useless.
This is the absolute worst navigation system I have seen in any car I've ever driven
It is absolutely horrible. My daughter has Apple play and its tremendous!! They need to replace this, no real time map on screen, only left or right. For all the GPS units out there this was a bad choice to partner with. The phone version is good the link to Toyota is very limited and bad
Toyota has been my all time favorite car manufacturer - until now. Just bought 2017 Camry Hybrid. Such a technically advanced vehicle - but then they off THIS as a navigation solution! It is a complete joke! Even if it actually worked as designed, it harkens back to the 90's - shame on you Toyota!
Light years behind
This is a waste of space on the phone. Voice recognition is useless. The interface with Toyota control center is useless as well. You cant view the map unless your navigating somewhere. If you want to navigate just use google maps on your iPhone.
Does not recognize phone is connected to car.
Iphone pared easily to 2016 Prius but this app does not recognize the Bluetooth pair.
Doesnt qualify as a Nav system
If you want navigation, you need to get the integrated nav and do not get this. I hoped this would be a decent option for navigation but sadly its not. When app is open, you cannot work on app with your phone. Even if you have a passenger able to type in address on screen. This app has potential but google maps is light years ahead of it. Use google maps instead. Needs: Google Maps favorite places import Plain Map view with Traffic -just show a map with traffic without directions Address connection issues -this cripples the app to useless
