I am disgusted knowing that Toyota has placed a dangerous app as nav. my requirement with the new two 2018 vehicles I bought with Toyota just one month ago . They told me toyota cane up with this scout gps so Bragg about it! Well if I could I would give 1/2 star. Or no star at ALL!!! This is not good to have in manufacture vehicles like as Toyota will bring the name Down for something that was not put it through definitely satisfaction of Toyota loyal drivers. My only requirement in a vehicle it’s to have a navigation and this Isn’t one that I can live with it!!! It crashes so many times then the screen keeps goes out the voice it is so annoying used could have a sound of someone that is satisfaction other than just a computer . Besides the fact that who is going to concentrate and keep on looking and pressing the app button to bring the screen back on! DANGEROUS WHERE IS THE SAFETY! My phone it turn so hot and on top of that the phone it cannot be used during the screen it stays on and won’t let you choose to dial out. OMG I want to scream . Toyota recall those scout and have your customers installed a full navigation system! YOU AS TOYOTA SHOULD HAVE YOUR CUSTOMERS SATISFIED Why going cheaper and breaking bringing your name down to the next competitor?! Why!?!?? So I googled this to see if anyone else had issues. My “gps” froze in the middle of a tunnel in Boston. What a piece of junk. My requirement for the car was a gps. I’m now lost, scared, and late for a meeting with executives while trying to use my phone to get where I need to. My 2015 rav has a gps that was just fine. Scout is the biggest pos I have ever used
Needs basic usability testing
I’m using an iPhone X. I’ve elected to create a new account using an email address. The account creation screen has a box to enter your password and a box to enter a confirmation of your password. The keyboard that pops up onscreen (not the default keyboard) covers the text box and prevents me from pasting my 20-digit/symbol random password from 1Password. My first impression of this app is that it needs some attention. I’m sure the developer response will be to use Facebook instead, but I don’t, and having systems in place that don’t function is the point.
App is useless in. $44000 vehicle
App crashes constantly, have to reload and have talked to Scout tech support. Useless app for navigating in my brand new Lexus. Spend the extra money and get the upgrade to an in dash GPS, the Scout is totally useless.
Won’t sync with phone any more
Even though my phone is connected. Yes, I can get calls. Since it’s tied to my Toyota, exceedingly disappointing. Dragging my Garmin back out.
Bad Move Toyota
The amount of work that Toyota puts into their cars and the amount of money we pay, this app is an embarrassment. Toyota owes it to its customers to fix this debacle. It is so frustratingly bad that it is actually dangerous for drivers.

Works ok but why would toyota want to charge me for this gps service after 3years? When google maps or the Apple maps works better

I hate it! Not only do I have to have my phone plugged in via USB, I can’t go into other apps (while my husband drives) or the map goes away. Plus no where does it give me option to see what my time of arrival is. I hope they make some changes ASAP!
Should be called does not work app
This app is the worst one I’ve ever download. It seems like the price that you paid for a Toyota they would’ve gotten a reliable company for the service. I have been putting up with this app not working 99% of the time for two years. I’ve had the car back to Toyota quite a few times for this problem and they can’t do anything. The one or two times that it did work was nice. But like I said it doesn’t work more than it does. Doesn’t even really deserve one starred.
Doesn’t work
I try and try to get my phone to sync with this app. It will not sync, even the Toyota dealership could not get it to sync! Why can’t the developers of this app fix it?
Horrible
Just leased a 2018 Lexus ES350. Salesman said this was the latest and greatest. WRONG!!!! This is my 4th Lexus and my husband always gets Tundras, but Toyota should be ashamed to offer this in their vehicles. Down more than up. In order to get it to connect I have to repeatedly turn off vehicle, open and close door and restart and launch app. This technique showed to me by Lexus tech rep. Today it took 4 tries. I’ve been back to Lexus 3 times. Their answer was to lease me another car with navigation with a higher payment. If this is the future for Lexus, after all these years I will never own another one .
This Is Ridiculous and Lexus should be embarrassed
It took 2 months to get my map working. Now it goes blank 15 minutes after i put in my destination. You people should be ashamed of selling expensive cars with aN inferior GPS system. You should have partnered with a reputable company like Garmin. I have seen so many complaints I just might return the car under the Lemon Law.
Log in every time
Please fix the app so you don’t have to log in and select Toyota every time you use it.

Update 03/22/2018: the traffic is outdated! The lane shows red as if there is a lot of traffic but in reality there is no traffic. There still needs to be better rerouting especially if there is “traffic”... why does app this throws me into traffic? As a consumer, I would strongly recommend using Waze, Apple Maps or Google Maps, as this app has no intentions of making any major changes despite the poor ratings. As everyone else mentioned, Toyota’s decision to use this was a bad business move on their part due to consumer frustration attempting to use this app as their sole gps. Recommendations: -Lane assist -speedometer -speed limit reminder -better rerouting (most of the time the app will make follow a specific route as opposed to taking an alternate route) - better timing for turning, seems delayed or it tells you to turn while you are turning. -reduce that big arrow box size that takes up half the screen, it so unnecessary to be that big. - provide more details in your map -suggest alternative route if the gps detects heavy traffic

If had been told this was my inly option for gps in my new Tundra I would have bout a Ford !! What a crappy app has only worked once at the dealership after I complained to them about not mentioning how bad it was!!
The worst GPS app of all time
The title says it all
After reading the reviews, i don't feel so stupid. The app does not connect. I upgraded from a Venza to a Lexus and I am deeply disappointed that we can't even get simple directions. Hopefully something can be done to fix this.

Scout GPS keeps crashing and that needs to be downloaded again. Even though I re download it still doesn’t work. Very disappointed.
Works ok when it connects
I have had great difficulty in getting this app to connect consistently. I have yet to find the right combination of app on before starting car and/ or cone ting by cord or Bluetooth that connects all the time. When it works the app is ok. But I havent been able to use it very often to give it a full use.
