Scout GPS Link App Reviews

Awful awful awful awful

This app deserves zero stars. Free or not. If you roll something out to market at least make sure the darn thing works as designed. As all others have said, this is a really really shockingly awful app. Save yourself the aggravation and dont bother using this app in your Toyota. Stick with whatever nav app you like on your phone.

Scout GPS

Terrible just terrible. Can’t believe I paid 45 grand for a new truck and this is the navigation it has. You failed Toyota!

Junk

Gps location is off by hundreds of feet. Does not save home or work. Cant save local maps so devours download data. Whoever thought this was a good idea should be fired. My daughter just bought an Honda C R V and guess what... the in board GPS actually works unlike this garbage.

Worst gps app ever

Why didn’t Toyota use apple/android based systems

Frustrating app

Connects sometimes. Should be a lot easier to use and more reliable.

Garbage

It doesnt stay attached to your car. You have to login every time you get into your car which could be 10 times a day. It also doesnt save any favorites. It takes a long time to respond. Its crap.

Doesn’t work with new iPhones. Google Maps is better.

iPhone 8 doesn’t connect to Scout, Entune, nor Remote Connect. Requires using BOTH Bluetooth AND wired USB together. Even then, it tries to connect with passenger smart phone! Inaccurate maps and bad directions. Puts “centered” cursor in bottom third of screen, so going South doesn’t show roads ahead. Phone Compatibility Lists online are almost four years old. Help Desk says keep contacting dealer! Requires four apps on phone: Toyota Owners, Entune, Scout, and RemoteConnect. These are all ONE app on my four year old GMC that work every time on new iPhone. Scout (and Entune) won’t even load on vehicle even when running on iPhone8. Best solution: Glue your phone over the Toyota screen and run GoogleMaps or buy a Garmin.

Worthless is Giving This App Too Much Credit

Rented a car that required this App (Thanks Toyota). Let’s start with a GPS App, using the new IPhone X, that cannot even find itself. Once it finally finds itself it can not find a route using City streets. This is the only GPS I have ever seen that made me stop and buy a street map. Do you know how hard it is to find a street map? I understand why this App is free, you get what you pay for.

Garbage app. Has worked <10% of the time

“Could not complete request. Please try again later. Code 200.1.0” Have you ever seen a different screen when using with new 2018 Tundra?? Garbage

Freezes all the Time

Awful !

Without doubt the worst app I’ve ever downloaded!! Toyota should be ashamed that they have taken such a giant step backwards in technology. Too many problems with this app to list separately. I love my 2018 Camry SXE - but dealing with this app suite is completely frustrating and disappointing. I can only hope that developers do something about it after reading these awful reviews - and do it quickly.

Perfect

Thats alll that i was always looking for!!

Poor

Excited to have a built in screen for navigation on my 2017 Tundra. Directions so far seem correct. BUT overview map is almost useless to decide which route. Also having NO map is very poor idea. Toyota should be ashamed to even included this as an option. I hope it can be improved by apps upgrades.

Horrible

It loaded some of my contacts but not others. It says an address is Added to Favorites and then tells me I have no favorites. It insists on telling me to make U-turns instead of recalculating the route based on my current location. It won’t allow changing a destination while I’m driving. It selects very obscure routes to destinations instead of the shortest route. I go on and on. Very unintuitive.

Worse GPS ever!!!!!

The route doesn’t do the quickest and shortest. When I went out of town, it wouldn’t show the interstate route. Then when the Entune app updated and I plugged in the USB cable, it wouldn’t do the enhanced version for my XLE. Before I did the update, the enhanced version worked. All in all, I will not use it until they fix it. Don’t recommend this gps!

Terrible

It won’t open, just keeps going in a circle. I travel a lot for work and now this app is worthless. I should have bought the Honda Accord.

Actually pretty good

2018 Lexus NX F Sport I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews. It’s a free navigation app that’s pretty decent. It works just like a normal navigation system with turn by turn directions and even redirects you when you miss an exit (I missed an exit driving home today) Here are some tips: 1. Connect phone to car via USB, this allows for the car to pull up a map for you to follow in real time. (I like that it also always keeps my phone fully charged) 2. Pre choose your destinations on your phone so that you don’t have to search for it using your cars screen. 3. When the Enform app crashes and exits you out of your navi, simply open up your Enform app again and it’ll resume your trip guidance. Sure some of this may seem inconvenient but again it’s free. It acts like an actual Navi using your cars screen without having to spend the extra money purchasing a car with the Navi package included.

Terrible. Wish I could get a different app that worked on Camry screen

Do the developers read these reviews??
