Scout GPS Link App Reviews

Toyota

Stop working after software update. Entune is asking to reload update but it’s impossible bc the sys wouldn’t give you the option! Toyota please get us Apple play or fix all the bugs.

Scout GPS Link Horrible

I have endless trouble with Scout GPS Link. It takes FOREVER to type in a location in the search and the voice commands never pick up correctly. When I do manage to type in an address (usually at least a 20-minute process), the directions are horrible and I cannot stand the display on the touch screen. The map is tiny and the navigation sticks and usually is not correct. I would love it if Toyota gave a choice of what we could use. My phone’s Google Maps is 100% better even if it occasionally sends me in circles!

It’s good but missing actual Navigation Map.

Does not show the actual navigation map. Other then that everything works great. Please add this to it. Thanks

2018 Toyota XSE V6

This app crashes all the time the fact that you have to keep your phone open and on this app for the navigation to continue it’s ridiculous I would rather have Apple CarPlay is better please update this please

Simply Works

Became 5 star after latest updates. No battery issues.

Why Toyota keep this stupid app...

It can’t save the address. I tried to save my home and work address but it never works. Also, If i want to see the map from the Car, I need to turn on the phone screen. Kidding me? Furthermore, It cannot type anything while you are on Drive mode. lol I know but it is kind of hard to find the stop spot in la, so it is really hard to use it. Slow traffic update or no update as well...

Useless!

Lexus has the worst app suite in the market. I don’t know why they refuse to integrate to CarPlay, like so many manufacturers. 2018 nx with worthless entune system

Terrible

I wish we never bought the 2018 Camry. I didn’t realize the navigation system in the car didn’t have a map in it. You have to connect your phone to have a map. I thought we had the correct navigation system.

Awful

Toyota Camry # 2 and they switched from a perfectly EXCELLENT system to a second class app! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!

Needs major I mean major update

This app is so far behind its competitors. It doesn’t have an ETA. It continues to crash with Toyota Entune 3.0. Moving maps doesn’t work half the time. It has to be plugged in the USB port for moving maps. Shows no exit numbers or anything like other companies show. It needs major improvements.

So excited. So disappointed.

I love my 2016 Tacoma but lived with fact that true navigation was lacking. Until I found out about Scout GPS. I couldnt bring my truck actually downloaded the app right into the radio! I was so excited to see a true turn by turn on the screen - for one single trip. Then it never worked again. Ill boot it up on the screen, and everything brings to look fine. Then nothing. I have it on my home display. Its blank. Like not there. I see one reviewer got it to work. Id like to know how. Back to Waze.

Complete Disappointment

UPDATE: The thing finally decided to work however the directions are delayed and tell me to turn on the road after I pass the road so .... it’s essentially useless!!!! Great concept - but should have never been rolled out with the that amount of delay.... The app does not work - at all - the four days I’ve owned the car. 2018 Toyota Camry SE has never connected to the iPhone 8plus but did to the 6plus. The Entune must not be currently working properly STILL even though it’s connected “supposedly” ... my talk to text still does not work. WTH TOYOTA!! Properly update and test your apps before installing them into ALL of your vehicles... I am SORELY DISAPPOINTED since I chose this car instead of others that my phone had no problems connecting to and using their GPS versions on their touch screens.

Scout GPS Link

In the beginning of 2017 I would have rated this app one star as I was unable to get that version to work properly with my Toyota Entune radio. I’ve just recently downloading and installed the Scout GPS Link App again with success and seems to work awesome now! 5 Stars

Toyota can do better than this

This is the gps app that pairs with my new Toyota Avalon. An excellent car but for this pitiful app. I expected better from a company that makes excellent cars. Update I didn’t think this app could get any worse. I was wrong. I just installed the latest “upgrade” (lol) and all of my saved addresses are gone including home and office and it will not save them when I enter them over and over. Ordering a paper “Triptik fromAAA is more efficient.

M

Very disappointed came installed in my new 2017 Toyota Sienna gps is very slow No map included It’s a waist of money.

Horrible!!! I just bought a 2018 Camry, XLE in AL less than 2 weeks ago and I only have 350 miles on the car. The GPS connection system to my phone with the Scout APP and it works about 5 % of the time I try to use it. It appears that Toyota got sold a faulty Scout APP and they should get Scout to fix this problem immediately. I will tell all my friends not to buy a Camry or any Toyota car with a GPS that uses the Scout APP until they get the GPS problem fixed.

It’s worked once

It’s slow and hardly ever connects I’ve just stuck to my phone since this app doesn’t even have lane counts so you don’t know what lane to be in till you’re last minute switching.

2018 Toyota Camry and scout doesnt work thinking of returning the car

Less than 300 miles on the car and this wont work. Took it back to Dealer they said nothing was wrong. Looked at reviews seems like Scout is operating the way it does for Lexus and all other models and try to use it. In other words it just doesnt work and Toyota and Lexus have been sold a bill of goods and a program to their customers that doesnt work

Worthless

It works on occasion. Usually not when you really need it. I miss On Star. Unfortunately Toyota doesn’t have it

Freezes up

While linked to our 2017 RAV4 the GPS freezes after starting. This, of course, makes it useless for navigating.
