Scout GPS Link App Reviews

Hope the new update fixes all the issues

I see it updated two days ago for bug fixes but I haven’t used it yet. This app has been basically worthless for the last several months. I have to sign into my account every single time I log into my car. Half the time the GPS doesn’t update so it just sits there telling me to leave my house for 25 minutes until I give up. Definitely was not worth the extra money I spent to get the radio that support this app.

USB issue

As soon as we connect the usb for the live map we lose Entune and scout gps altogether. Not happy.

Just awful!

Why would Toyota try to do this? I can’t get it ton sync with my Car. Salesman can’t help either. Terrible experience. Just allow Apple Car Play like everyone else. So frustrating when Google and Apple have spent millions getting it right. This app is terrible.

Terrible APP

This APP is virtually unusable. It it very glitchy and does not work well when connected to my vehicle. Toyota made a bad decision when they made owners use this product with their entertainment systems.

Worst of the worst

Doesn’t connect… Crashes… Horrible app

Lousy

This doesn’t work with iPhone 8 and 10. It also doesn’t work with most android phones. Why are you using a application Toyota if it doesn’t work? You need to do what Hyundai has done with their 2018 Sonata’s-just let the car screen link to your google maps from your phone. I wouldn’t have bought the 2018 Toyota Camry XSE if I had known it has an inoperable navigation system.

Unfortunate

Unfortunately there is no way to rate less than one star. There are bad apps than there is this. I really hope Toyota has the developer fix this app. Toyota can also choose to incorporate the Apple Maps app.

Terrible

I would rather get lost...

Do not buy a Toyota or Lexus if you need GPS

Both Toyota & Lexus depend on this App for full map services except in limited highest end models. It is terrible, wastes your phone’s minutes, and as of 3 weeks ago Scout GPS Link no longer syncs successfully by USB to display full maps (although told by the dealership “they are working on it”). Slow & clunky. Toyota & Lexus ought to be ashamed - their reputation is reliability & this App is anything but. Scout GPS link ought to be ashamed. Terrible. Three weeks later - still terrible & not resolved. Consider a Honda or other if GPS or technology is even a consideration or important.

Agreed. Dealer told me how great this was on our new 2018 Camry. Love the car, hate this app. Won’t load, keep getting “unsuccessful “ messages. I just gave up. I’ll use google maps.

Terrible app

Simply terrible. Toyota - really?

Waze rules

This thing is awful I cant even use it unless youre in Park even if youre the passenger. You guys need to go look at WAZE maybe steal some of their ideas. 2018 Toyota Camry and this is the best I could get shouldve bought the fusion.

Bad

This is crap

Shame on Toyota for making us use this joke nav system

Scout is simply useless. Might as well not be on the car at all because it’s such a pain to use — and it won’t give you the correct directions. You can’t even have a passenger program destinations while you’re driving. You have to pull over, which defeats the whole point. No traffic updates. Outdated maps. Terrible user interface. Chews up data. Toyota has made a terrible choice using this over Apple CarPlay, but it appears the company is oblivious to all customer feedback. Unfortunate black mark on an otherwise great vehicle (2018 Camry).

Does not work

I have a 2018 Avalon and this app has only worked once in the 3 months I’ve owned the car. This app is just dreadful. Just skip the frustration and get yourself a Garmin.

Shame on TOYOTA

If they don’t fix this they’re going to feel it in their sales. Ditto the worst reviews!!! I’m happy that I came here. Since I honestly thought it was me! I couldn’t suspect that a company as reliable as Toyota would have this Nursery School level system! WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE THEY THINKING! Keep WAZE on your phone and forget about this Garbage.

Will not connect to my 2016 Tundra

If I could give this worthless piece of phone clutter a negative star rating I would. This dumpster fire of a navigation app is almost impossible to use. Toyota, you should be ashamed to associate yourself with this app. It will not connect to my 2016 Toyota Tundra no matter how many times I delete it and reinstall. After spending a large sum of hard earned wages on a truck, I would expect some sort of navigation system to actually function. Shame on you Toyota.

Horrible app

This app is basically useless! Major updates needed. It usually does not connect. It will freeze on one direction and never catch up to current location and provide next direction! Horrible app!!! If I could give no stars I would!

Trash

They should scrap this crap . It works 60% of the time .

2017 Tacoma

This app is awful! Connected once in over a month of owning my truck. Don’t know why Toyota just doesn’t go with apple car play like everyone else.

Frustrating

If I could change to gouge map I would even pay for subscription Driving Info is general 3 seconds or 50 feet to late, routing isn’t up to date, this gps sends you direct in the high traffic. Follow google to compare and you see how bad it is. Directions are confusing and not clear by mute off, leads to wrong and short notice and last seconds decision.
