Scout GPS Link App Reviews

App works fairly well

I would still prefer in dash navigation, but this work fairly well. Sometimes. Well actually maybe only works 30% of time. Keep the app up to date please.

Lacking in features. Disappointing.

I was hoping I could use the Scout to replace using Waze since it connects to my truck, but Scout lacks features of other GPS and is not nearly as accurate. I use the real-time traffic and routing feature in Waze on a daily basis. The Scout database(s) seem to be outdated for destinations and require more specific search parameters. Arrows for directions are too generic to be helpful. It does not show actual road path, just a generic left/right/straight arrows. Road names may not be available at times and Exit numbers off highways are not available.

Scout gps

Hard to use. To change from my husbands phone to mine I have to forget this device and then put my phone back in. Scout doesn’t give a nice written list of the proposed route and it only shows the immediate area in which I’m traveling on the screen. I like an overview because it frequently does stupid directions such as sending me through a residential area when the road I need is the next exit. I can’t say I’m impressed.

Connectivity issues

I truly hate that toyota made the decision to spend money on this worthless app. The map claims to work better with usb connection but everytime i try to connect if fails. I would have never purchase the car knowing i would have had to deal with this navigation system

Rarely connects

It would connect after a few times with my iPhone 6. It has only connected once with my iPhone 8.

Ms

I am very dissatisfied with the operation of this GPS system it never works when I need it I’m going to go back to the Toyota dealer to see what I can do it very to satisfied

Scout bad reviews

Why all the bad scout Gps comments for Toyoto Camry XLE? Too many 1 star ratings!!

Disappointing

The nav system on my 2008 Acura was so far ahead of this Scout system. I could run the Acura nav and run both Waze and any other nav system on my phone concurrently if I wanted. I was very upset and have resigned myself to getting a dashmount and using my phone gps apps rather than the Scout as the Scout map shuts off the second I go to Waze or google maps Do not find the app user friendly

Inaccurate gps

The gps is always off by 50-100 ft. Is there anyway to adjust the accuracy? Since there is no verbal “next left” etc, or beep the road is passed a lot. Not all the roads have signs it is sometimes difficult to make a quick decision while in traffic. More gps accuracy would help sole this. The iphone has no adjustment for accuracy either.

Rarely Works - shouldn’t exist, Google Maps and Apple do better

Rarely works, won’t update directions as I drive, sometimes won’t actually connect to my car. Constantly asks for permission to allow the app in my car to use my phone... have to say yes every time. Not optimized for large screens. Just s rotten app all around.

Didn’t work at first

Finally got it to work one time

It’s soo bad

It’s never work; away it’s giving me some error message. We the costumers deserves better after paying so much for our vehicles.

Scout is awful

This is by far the worst app ever!!! Please Toyota, fix this problem.

Stupid default for Toyota

This is a huge disappointment for an overall good car. Can’t believe there isn’t a better option like Waze.

I regret buying a Toyota now

This app only works about 20% of the time. It is so frustrating and difficult to use that I now really regret buying a Toyota Corolla. I actually really needed a GPS system for my car and now I’m considering either replacing my stereo or trading in my Corolla for something that won’t stick me with this crappy gps.

Works once every fifteen times

Very irritating , if you delete the APP then reinstall it works maybe 25% of the time , it’s garbage !!!!

Terrible!!

Worked at the dealership and Toyota service & sales department can’t figure out how to link scout. I bought my car under the impression it came with real GPS not an app that doesn’t work and drains all your Verizon data!! Now I have a $40,000 2018 car with out GPS!!

Horrible app

Unable to connect. Toyota should be ashamed to partner with this substandard feature.

Awful

I have to log in every time I open the app. I never see a map on my screen, just instructions on where to turn. UI looks cheep and outdated. Frequently gives me wrong directions; ie telling me to take a u-turn when none is needed. Often the GPS is wrong about my location or which side of the road I’m on. These are problems GPS apps had 10 years ago. I’m embarrassed for people to see this in 2017 truck. I wish I had Apple CarPlay, instead.

Not great.

I wish it had an simple map view. Does not connect automatically

Cuts out phone but does not disconnect when talking worth my husband on phone. They have to do better than what this is. This is Toyota, I paid for all these extras.
