Scout GPS Link App Reviews

I want my OnStar Back

Cant link to car. It wont recognize my Canadian addresses. Very poor interface. Time to buy a third party Nav system.

Doesn’t work

Very disappointed with Toyota!!!!! Scout App is not worth anything. New 2018 Camry and a crappy, unusable navigation system!!!!! Wonder how navigation works on a Honda Accord???!!!! Agree, 2018 Camry and NO MOVING MAP???!!!! Crap system!!!!!!!

Scout is worthless

I purchased a Camry in August - I was assured that scout was a thing of the future - the dealer installed the apps - worked for one iPhone update - not worked since. Such a waste of time, money and energy - Toyota does nothing but pass the buck - I guess it’s time for a class action law suit. Maybe Toyota will get the idea to fix it - to end the lawsuit. Worse part is they knew it was Not working when they installed it. Shame on you Toyota, you are just a typical low life bottom feeder car company

Not up to date!

I-94 N into Milwaukee changed more than a year ago. Scout has exit 314 as one exit ramp, then splitting, but it is now two exits, one for each street.

iPhone X

When will this app be compatible with iPhoneX??!

Garbage. Shame on Toyota

STILL GARBAGE. NO APOLOGIES AND NOT A HINT OF ATTEMPTING A FIX. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU. As with many others I was duped by the expectation of a normal reliable navigation system in my new 2018 Toyota Camry hybrid. Their Scout/Entune system, the ONLY system available even in the top-of-the-line 2018 Camry hybrid and only as part of a $1800 option package, is unreliable, cuts out, and is unsafe at any speed—it’s probably now a blessing that it’s now suddenly incompatible with Apple software. ALL the complaints on this board are accurate. Deserves a Zero Rating.

Unreliable. Dated graphics.

I was really looking forward to this app, after purchasing my new Toyota. But after several attempts where the app dispensed incorrect directions, and not to mention the graphics are very similar to a 2008 Volkswagen Touareg that I also use to own, I sadly can no longer rely on this app. Will have to revert to attaching my phone to the windshield while I use google maps.

Bad connectivity

The app doesn’t work as intended. The app has to be uninstalled and reinstalled every time I want to use the Navigation.

This is an awful system. The car is great but the Scout GPS system does not work. I am very disappointed. If you call the dealer they have someone work on it for you but it will stop working as soon as you try to download it again. I would like for Lexus to exchange this system out for a real navagation system.

Crap app and developers

App is unable to maintain connection between car and iPhone. Always asks for Scout GPS app to open but never connects when trying to nav from the vehicle screen. Have had the app and vehicle for six months and its never maintained route guidence for more than a few miles or few minutes.

Set up???

I tried to set up my home and it can’t find the proper address. I have had my car for over a year. I stopped using it and reinstalled it and still can’t find my house!

Crappy App

Worse app ever.. piece of crap. No turn by turn.. no volume adjustments.. crappy reception.. Toyota should be freaking embarrassed using this piece of crap app.. Go back to Entune Toyota.. this app is a f$@&ing Joke!!!! If there was lower star to give I would give it..

Disappointing

I have had my car going on two months. Was told then they were working on getting the bugs fixed so my map would show. It still has not been resolved. I assure you if this was a situation of being a monthly subscription it would have been fixed by now. Seeing that it is something that is calcium the purchase of my car, I have to say it is a sad display of poor customer service to still have it not working. It is very apparent that you are in no hurry to correct this issue.

Garbage

Save yourself the frustration and if you buy a Lexus make sure you pay for the factory navigation. This app is useless. Works maybe 10% of the time, and in order to get it working again you have to go through a literal ten step process which involves restarting your phone, restarting Bluetooth, restarting the vehicle, deleting and reinstalling the app. Who has time for these shenanigans?! Lexus please give us an alternative to this or at the very least make this app work. I actually deleted this app from my phone as it constantly runs in the background and it’s completely useless!

Toyota sold lies

For a brand new 2018 Camry, one should expect that a working navigation system/app is included. However, that is not the case for Toyota. In its omission of Apple Carplay and Android integration, the company chose to create a non-functional navigation app and market it to buyers as a functional substitute. It is a shameful practice by the auto-maker because if you are not going to give the customer an essential feature, at least provide them with a FUNCTIONAL substitute. The Scout GPS literally won’t work. It doesn’t matter if you have the latest iphone/firmware, the moment you plug it into the system via USB the overall Entune app function just stop working all together. Tldr; This app is completely useless and I am surprised Toyota has not been sued yet for false marketing.

Navigation

Unfortunately navigation is not working on Apple phones, which is a big disappointment!!!!!!

Don’t get this app

Worst app, does not work on brand Toyota. It’s been about 2 months and they still haven’t fix the issues with their app.

Run. Don’t walk from this app

This map will absolutely NOT work with an iphone 6 running ios 11.2.5 via USB in your car. If you bought a Toyota 2018 Camry I’m sorry. You got ripped. Toyota’s Entune 3.0 app that you need to run this map does not work therefore Scout doesn’t either when connected. Poor and even worse. Buy an Accord and save yourself!

Disaster

Most of the roads are unnamed. It only displays the next turn. Would be great to display the entire map similar to Google maps or any other GPS. The entire screen is available. Why not use a UI that every other GPS is using. Just follow Google Maps UI design. Major disappointment. Every time there is an update, I keep hoping the map would be available. But ...??

Poor excuse for a gps. The turn-by-turn just doesn’t work well if you can’t see the cross streets flowing into the map. I have it on a 2017 Tacoma. Only comes on about 1/2 the time. Other times doesn’t connect, even though the phone is working OK on Bluetooth. Most of the time I forget about it and just use maps on the phone.
