App is garbage will not connect

Have 2017 Lexus rx350 non navigation. Followed all directions exactly. Blue tooth on and connected to vehicle. The scout link app is running on my phone and Navi connect is on. Using iPhone 8. The screen on vehicle says “phone app not detected. Please ensure scout gps link is running on your phone”.

If the company can update the app and it will work than I will change my rating to 5 stars! Otherwise for now this app is garbage.
