Holding phone GPS again

I just purchased a 2018 Camry with everything. I absolutely love this car. It is so disappointing to have such a horrible GPS. It rarely connects. I have to keep the screen of my iPhone on when it is working. I spend more time trying to set it up than most trips take. I would rather have the crappy internal GPS from my 2013 Prius. I’m back to holding my iPhone using google maps.
Does Toyota see that the ratings for this app is 1 star. Which really is the same as zero because 1 is the lowest option.
I wish we could get an update about what is being done to fix this issue instead of the form letter from Sal Yanez.
